Texas Medical Center

THE AHA ANNUAL SPRING MEETING will be held at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, April 23 through 25, 2015, and hosted by the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care of the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. David C. Mackey and his colleagues at MD Anderson guarantee a great program and interesting visits to Houston locations. A block of rooms is reserved at the Texas Medical Center Marriott Hotel. The professional program will be held at MD Anderson and shuttles will be provided from the Marriott.

Tour of the MITIE Simulation Center at Methodist Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey Library and Museum Baylor College of Medicine. (Thursday 1:00 PM, Only available to conference and/or workshop registrants: $15 per participant, $20 for late registration)
The MITIE Center is the largest medical simulation complex in the world. It provides a state of the art area for simulation based learning incorporating a virtual hospital, OR, and procedural skills lab all under one roof. The DeBakey Library and Museum chronicles the life of Dr. DeBakey, a pioneering heart surgeon. He is often referred to as the father of modern CV surgery. Participants will be able to see exhibits, photos and memorabilia of the esteemed physician on display.

Historical Research and Writing Workshop (Saturday 1 PM to 5 PM, $100, $150 for late registration. Includes Lunch)
We are delighted to have a mix of experts whose focus is a particular area in historical research and writing. Topics will include more in depth study on archiving, genealogy, effective writing and publication tips. The workshop is offered to anyone wanting to improve upon their present writing skillset.
